Eighteen school districts in Southwest Missouri are collaborating to improve their emergency management through a federal emergency grant. Dr. Ron Lankford, Superintendent, Webb City, is the Project Director. Participating school districts are: Aurora, Carthage, Cassville, Crane, Exeter, Golden City, Greenfield, Jasper, Joplin Liberal, Lockwood, Marionville, Miller, Monett, Mt.Vernon, Neosho, Pierce City and Webb City. The Missouri Center for Safe Schools and Southwest Center for Educational Excellence are implementing the project.
The project provides for collaboration among emergency response providers, community agencies, parents and school personnel. The phases of crisis management and ICS will be incorporated in district plans. Training is provided for school personnel in all buildings.
