Description: Despite the proven benefits of dance, many of today’s
physical educators still consider dance an overwhelming portion of
the curriculum. With the advent of the Internet and numerous web
sites dedicated to physical activity, today’s teachers have the
opportunities to be exposed to many dance activities. Yet,
transforming written choreography to dance movement can be a
daunting and challenging task. This session will give today*s
non-dancing physical educators the hands on experience necessary to
teach many of the countless numbers of aerobic and dance lesson
ideas found on the Internet. The representatives of the dance
division of pecentral.org will present the “Dance Ideas of the
Month” as posted on their web site, dances found on the popular
YouTube.com web site, and even some new ways to teach the old
dances that all physical educators love. After this session,
instructors will be able to teach and create numerous aerobic and
dance activities by learning to successfully interpret, infuse, and
integrate dance on the Internet and dance in the classroom!
New.
