Date: 6/4/2009; if needed, a second class will be offered on June

Time: 4:30 pm--8:15 pm
Location: Southwest Center
Audience: All educators
Facilitator: Chett Daniel
Description: Teachers have the right to be comfortable financially,
yet among their professional peers, we are one of the few groups
who are specifically targeted by credit counseling agencies and
high interest lenders due to the teaching industries poor track
record with credit, spending and income. Teachers also deserve,
probably more than anyone else, a true retirement that is not
supplemented by years of substitute teaching, or work in the retail
industry after retiring as a teacher. Whether you are in your first
year of teaching or your 20th, this personal finance workshop is
for you. In this workshop you will find information on how to
change habits that lead to financial disasters, reduce and
eliminate debt, guide lines for major purchases, the tricks the
credit industry uses to bury you in debt, building savings and
investments outside of retirement, and you will learn how to have a
greater work life balance in your own life. Chett will speak from
his personal experience in leaving a high-paying job to return to
teaching. Just because you teach doesn’t mean you have to suffer
financially. Make sure you register early as seats for this
workshop will be limited. New.
