Emergency Grant Training Schedule--Summer 2009

CERT Training
CERT training is a two-day SEMA certified training for
members of the district/school Search and Rescue/Hazmat team.
Search /Rescue teams do not work alone—it is best to train in teams
of 3 This team will receive CERT bags containing personal
protective gear and supplies. This is a hands on training which
includes fire suppression, first aid assessments, victim rescue and
evacuation.

Security Training (Annex
E)
Security training is designed for the district/school level
security team. This should be a team of 3 members from your staff.
This team serves your “police” function in setting up perimeters,
traffic control, securing a site etc. Security teams will be
provided a team bag with tools needed for this
function-ie.-flashlights, caution tape etc.

Family Reunification Team
Training (Annex K)
Family Reunification training is for district/school
level team charged with establishing the procedures and processes
to account for students and releasing them to families. This team
should consist of 3 members.

FIRST AID TEAM TRAINING
This training is for those districts that were unable to send a nurse to Nurse Train-the Trainer last summer and for private schools. This is a 6-hour training that focuses on Triage and Emergency First Aid . These targeted districts may send a team of three. Session will be presented by Dana Cook and Julie Taylor, Webb City School District.
