Description: Have you analyzed your MAP data and found students are not performing at the level that you wish?  Summative evaluations are used to determine if students have mastered specific competencies and to identify instructional areas that need additional attention. The goal of summative assessments is to make a judgment of student competency -- after an instructional phase is complete. Summative performance tasks encourage students to think creatively and allow them to show what they know and can do in an authentic context. The tasks are exciting, engaging, and challenging. Attend this session to learn how to write effective summative assessments.  Bring ideas, see examples of good and poor assessments and develop a performance/summative assessment you can use in your classroom with your own designed scoring tool.  NEW
