Description: Are you planning to "cash in your chips" in the next 1-5 years, or would you just like to understand your retirement/pension system better?  Did you know there are different ways to qualify for retirement?  Did you know that there are several ways that qualify you to buy years - and the most financially efficient way to buy those years?  Do you know how to calculate your PSRS retirement income so you can decide which of the six (6) different options is best for you and your circumstances?  You may also qualify for a "partial lump sum payment," but there are advantages and disadvantages to taking that opportunity.  Do you understand how your "cost of living adjustment" works, and what you can expect from your pension 10-20 years after you retire?  Are you familiar with the "government pension offset" and the "windfall elimination provision" and how these guidelines will affect your future retirement income?  If you would like answers to these questions and also have time for an extensive Q and A session, you should attend this FREE workshop, which is being offered courtesy of the Southwest Center for Educational Excellence and Rick Utter, Heartland Financial Resources.  Rick is a former educator himself, with 25 years in the PSRS.  He has also spent the last 24 years working with current and former employees of the two retirement systems and has analyzed the systems to help those participants better understand their retirement program.  Rick is not contracted from the PSRS. New.
