Description: The exponential growth of information in the 21st century expands the definition of literacy.  Students need to know how to read, write, gather, organize, remix, and create content.  We need to prepare our students for literacy in the 21st century.  What are the legal, ethical, and social issues of teaching and learning in a digital environment?  Learn the challenges and opportunities that come with learning online.  How do you handle copyright issues when creating content online?  What is the difference between plagiarism and collaboration when doing research with someone else?  How do you give credit to others for their work?  How do you keep kids safe while online?  What about cyberbullying?  How and why do you have students collaborate with other students around the world?  These are all issues and opportunities that need to be discussed when using online tools for learning.  NEW
