Description: Good educators are constantly learning more about the art of teaching, just as they continually consider new strategies that engage all students in the learning process.  This workshop encourages collaboration as teachers explore strategies to integrate a variety of fine arts experiences into middle school communication arts courses.  Using examples from classroom literature, participants will approach the works from the perspectives of drama, music and visual arts.  Teachers will learn arts integration strategies to assist students in reading fluency, making connections, monitoring comprehension, and increased engagement in their learning.  Join Missouri Fine Arts Academy coordinator Leatha Ault and MFAA faculty members Ray Castrey (music), Steve Fielding (visual arts) and Gretchen Teague (theatre arts) for this empowering workshop!  NEW
