Description: Did you know that there were over 3,000 books
published today? Did you know the amount of technical
information will double every two years? Did you know there
were over 2.7 billion Google searches performed last month?
The exponential growth of information in the 21st century expands
the definition of literacy. Students need to know how to
read, write, gather, organize, remix, and create content. We
need to prepare our students for literacy in the 21st century. A
blog is an easily created online interactive web page. Learn
how to create a blog and use it to communicate with parents and
students. We will explore examples of other class
blogs. Then, you will create your classroom web page and
learn how quick and easy it is to update. You can link to
sites you use in your class or that you want your students to
visit. You can add pictures. Parents can subscribe to
your class blog so they can receive an e-mail every time you update
your web page. Parents, students, or others can even leave
comments on your page. Make your classroom web page a
classroom communication and learning tool. NEW
