Description:
INTRODUCTION TO EARTH AND SPACE SCIENCE: This program contains three earth and space science units (Energy in the Earth System, Earth Science, and Astronomy). Recurring themes throughout include: energy, forces, systems, and properties of matter. Developing powers of observation, using data interpretation, and modeling phenomena are emphasized. Through hands-on investigations and readings, students learn about topics such as water, water chemistry (and its importance on Earth), oceans and their thermal structure, wind currents, ocean currents, erosion, plate tectonics, planets, mathematical models, stars and solar energy. Student textbook, investigation manual and equipment kit is used.

Description:
FOUNDATIONS OF PHYSICAL SCIENCE: Students explore science through inquiry-based, hands-on teaching and learning. Readings from student textbooks reinforce what the students learn through lab investigations. Units include: forces and motion, work and energy, electricity and magnetism, sound and waves, light and optics, properties of matter, changes in matter, later and solutions, and heating and cooling.

BSCS Biology: A Human
Approach
Representative:Steve Tomecek

E-mail:stomecek@kendallhunt.com
Description:
A Human Approach actively engages students so that ALL high school students understand the fundamental biology that affects who they are. This program was developed for 10th grade students, and will introduce students to the scientific process as a way to solve problems and make decisions so that they can make informed decisions as adults. The instruction of major concepts is organized around an instructional model based on the constructivist philosophy of learning of the "5 E's": Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate.
