Mary Ann Gremling started her career as a licensed registered dental hygienist after graduating from the University of Missouri at Kansas City dental school. MaryAnn was recruited by MSU to establish accredited dental hygiene and dental assisting programs. As director of the program she taught at the university level, supervised clinical experiences, as well as administrative duties for nine years. A bachelor of science in biology coupled with a masters degree from Missouri State University prepared her to teach biology, AP Biology and dual credit anatomy and physiology. When teaching at Carthage she received the Cowgill Blair Outstanding Teacher Award and served as science chair department head.
Mary Ann joined the SWC team when she was hired as a co-project director for the National Science Foundation grant, ORSI, and continues to work with districts on effective teaching and learning strategies.
